Admission: Dungeons and Dragons for New Players (Thursdays in October)
Fair Game customers have expressed a ton of interest in Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition! However, if you have not played D&D or other roleplaying games, it can be difficult to get started. Creating a character, buying the right accessories, finding a group ... it's all a bit overwhelming!
Fair Game La Grange is excited to announced a new series of D&D adventures for new adult players! Over the course of four weeks, players will venture through the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign module, growing from inexperienced commoners to seasoned adventurers!
Here are the specifics:
Dates: Thursday October 3, October 10, October 17, October 24
Time: 6 PM to 9 PM each week
Location: Fair Game La Grange
Ages: 18 and older
Entry Fee: $20 (This fee covers all four weeks, includes a set of dice and a miniature).
Please note that this is a casual tabletop setting and NOT part of the Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League program.
PREREGISTRATION IS VERY IMPORTANT; WE EXPECT THIS EVENT TO FILL UP VERY QUICKLY. Please reserve for seats for each event by purchasing the item associated with it. As seats for Dungeons and Dragons events are very limited, preregistering early is important. Players are required to inform of us any cancellations at least 24 hours before the each event's scheduled start time.
What do you need to play?
Ready to get started? Wonderful!
When you show up for your first session, we will provide a set of polyhedral dice and a miniature for you to use for during the campaign and to keep for future adventures! (If you would like to provide your own dice and miniature, you can return these items for store credit.)
As far as characters go, we can provide pregenerated character sheets to players. However, if you wish to create your own character, you are welcome to create one at home before the session. If you would like assistance, you can drop by early to the session on October 4 (starting at 5 PM) and we can help you out!
If you create a character, they need to be first level. You also must use the standard array of base skills (15, 14, 13, 12, 10 & 8). Finally, players are restricted to using class, race, and backgrounds available in the Player's Handbook. Options from supplemental texts like Xanathar's Guide to Everything, homebrew race/class options, and Unearthed Arcana publications are restricted. Any additional questions you may have regarding the construction of your character or about the table in general can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. (And in the case that this paragraph seems confusing, don't worry! You won't need to know any of it until later on ... the only thing you truly need when you show up is a sense of boundless creativity!)
