Word Wipeout has quickly become one of our favorites at Fair Game. From local publisher Gray Matters Games in Glen Ellyn comes a spelling race that your friends and family will love. This scratches a similar itch as Scrabble but comes with an exciting speed element that keeps people on their toes.
The game is simple - players try to pick up as many letter tiles as possible. All 26 letters are laid on the table and a category is announced. Players then spell a word from that category, picking up all letter tiles that are found in that word. You can use letters others have used, but don't get the benefit of claiming that tile. The person who picks up the most letter tiles after 6 rounds wins.
The game gets much more interesting with the advanced game, which introduces more points for uncommon letters, as well as points multipliers for claiming the hardest-to-use letters.
Seriously, we have a demo of this game - give it a try. You'll love it.
Description from the Publisher
Race to collect the most letters by spelling a word related to the category. The rounds get progressively more challenging as fewer letters remain. Pick from 200 beginner or advanced categories in a race to get the word out!
